DIS Technology Holdings Berhad , M&G launch DAB radio and E-Commerce website , Dolarmaker.com

DIS Technology Holdings Bhd (DIST) and its collaborative partner Mercantile and Gentry (M) Sdn Bhd (M&G) have jointly launched a new range of smartly designed digital audio broadcasting (DAB) radio receivers.

The launch which was held at the Carlton Conference Centre next to the Ritz Carlton in Kuala Lumpur on May 24 at 2pm was officiated by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Dato Sri Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis. The launch officially marks Malaysia’s entry into the development and creation of DAB radio otherwise known as a Smart Radio as well as the official launch of DIS Technology’s ecommerce arm Dolarmaker.com.

The event saw some 200 guests, business partners and associates participating in the grand event which included guests receiving door gifts and participating in a lucky draw. This special occasion marks the collaborative arrangement between DIS Technology which designed, created and built the core technology, software and hardware for the new line of DAB radios while M&G is involved in the marketing and promotion of the respective DAB radios.

DIST’s Managing director Dustin Cheah said the DAB radios marks DIS Technology’s entry into the manufacturing of more technologically sophisticated products and is a milestone in the company’s R&D capabilities. DIS Technology will continue to engineer the hardware and software of the DAB radios in line with the needs of its collaborative partner M&G.

The four table top DAB radios, manufactured by DIS Technology in Penang, is targeted at the European export market, primarily Britain, which is currently the biggest market for DAB in the world. M&G’s Managing director Simon B. Marshall said the four models, to be sold under the M&G Audio name, would be marketed as premium products to high-end consumers, who make up about 10% of the market segment in Britain.

DIS Technology Holdings Bhd which designs and creates its own line of ICT related products such as MP3 players, web cams and modems and markets them under the name of BlueThunder also officially launched its ecommerce arm Dolarmaker.com.

Dolarmaker.com is managed by DIS Technology’s subsidiary Modern Solution Sdn Bhd. It has Maybank2u as it’s e-payment solutions provider and aims to extend its ecommerce platform to other companies that may want to leverage on the expected rise in ecommerce transactions.

DIS Technology’s main export markets encompass the Asia Pacific region, the US, Canada, Europe, South Africa, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
